South Texas Enhancement Project
Project Overview
Kinder Morgan's Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. (TGP) is developing the South Texas Enhancement Project (STEP). The estimated $92 million project will extend existing shippers' transportation paths to other pipeline interconnection points, providing additional supplies for South Texas and Mexico markets.
If approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the STEP expansion will include construction of approximately 1.7 miles of new pipelines, the installation of an overpressure protection facility, and the construction of one new compressor station. Pending all additional permits and apporvals, the project is anticipated to be placed in service in the second quarter of 2028.
