Triad Expansion Project

Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. (Tennessee) is proposing the Triad Expansion Project (Project) to construct, install, modify, operate and maintain Project facilities to increase transportation capacity on Tennessee’s existing system to provide additional firm natural gas transportation service to serve a new Invenergy power plant to be constructed in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. The Project involves construction of approximately seven miles of new 36-inch diameter pipeline looping along Tennessee’s existing line right-of-way in Lenox and Clifford Townships, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania.

Tennessee has signed a binding precedent agreement with one shipper, Lackawanna Energy Center LLC, for all of the incremental firm transportation capacity that will be created by the Project’s proposed facilities, which demonstrates the immediate need for all of the capacity to be created by the Project.

The approximately $59 million Triad Project will provide 180,000 Dth/d of capacity for one customer and is ahead of schedule. Tennessee anticipates that the project facilities will be available for service in November 2017, with commercial contracts in service on June 1, 2018, as originally planned.

This Project and its in-service date are fully supported by the Project shipper’s commitment to the increased capacity to be provided by the Project.
