In most states, you are required by law to call 811, or your local One-Call center, at least two or three working days before starting an excavation project to have pipelines and underground utilities properly marked.

Before you add a fence, plant a tree, install a swimming pool or dig for any reason, call 811 or your local One-Call Center.

One-Call is a free service that protects you, your family and property. Refer to your state-specific One-Call laws for more information.

Remember:

  • Call 811 at least two working days before digging
  • Wait to have the lines marked
  • Dig with care
  • Immediately report any dents, scratches or damage
