Triad Expansion Project
Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, L.L.C. (Tennessee) is proposing the Triad Expansion Project (Project) to construct, install, modify, operate and maintain Project facilities to increase transportation capacity on Tennessee’s existing system to provide additional firm natural gas transportation service to serve a new Invenergy power plant to be constructed in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. The proposed Project involves construction of approximately seven miles of new 36-inch diameter pipeline looping along Tennessee’s existing line right-of-way in Lenox and Clifford Townships, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Upon completion, the Project will increase natural gas delivery capacity by approximately 180,000 dekatherms per day.
Tennessee has signed a binding precedent agreement with one shipper, Lackawanna Energy Center LLC, for all of the incremental firm transportation capacity that will be created by the Project’s proposed facilities, which demonstrates the immediate need for all of the capacity to be created by the Project.
This Project and its in-service date of Nov. 1, 2017, are fully supported by the Project shipper’s commitment to the increased capacity to be provided by the Project.
