Double Eagle Pipeline
Double Eagle pipeline, a 50/50 joint venture between Kinder Morgan Energy Partners and Magellan Midstream Partners, delivers Eagle Ford shale condensate to customers in Corpus Christi, Texas. The pipeline began operation in the second quarter of 2013.
The initial capacity of the pipeline is 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) but can be expanded to 150,000 bpd with additional pumps and equipment. Kinder Morgan serves as operator of the Double Eagle pipeline.
Double Eagle is currently building an approximate 10-mile extension of the Karnes leg to interconnect with the KMCC pipeline at Helena Station. This interconnection will facilitate a joint pipeline movement from Gardendale, Texas to the Houston Ship Channel. The interconnection and related facilities are expected to be in service during the first quarter of 2015.
