Intrastate Pipelines

KMP’s Texas Intrastate Natural Gas Group consists of two primary systems: Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline LLC and Kinder Morgan Tejas LLC.  Combined these systems include approximately 6,000 miles of pipelines with over 5 Bcf per day of capacity.  The group’s major market consists of industrial, utility and power generation end users located in the Houston/Beaumont/Port Arthur “Golden Triangle” area, the largest natural gas market in the world.  Natural gas is transported to these markets, and other markets along the path of the group’s pipelines, from various production basins to which it is connected along the Texas Gulf Coast, in East Texas and in West Texas, as well as from natural gas received from other pipelines.

Kinder Morgan’s Intrastate Group is both a transporter of natural gas and a merchant buyer and seller of natural gas.  In addition, the group provides natural gas storage services from 126 Bcf of on-system storage capacity it owns or controls, as well as natural gas processing and treating services through various facilities.  By way of its Mier-Monterrey Pipeline and Kinder Morgan Border Pipeline LLC, Kinder Morgan can also import and export significant volumes of natural gas across the U.S./Mexico border.
